Infrared Energy

Here at Peppermint we use infrared technology to heat our hot yoga sessions. This means that the heat is similar to being out in the summer sun, without the harmful UV exposure.  That's because infrared heats surfaces that have the ability to absorb infrared rays, rather than heating the air around us.

Rooms heated with traditional methods can feel stuffy, can make breathing difficult and leave you feeling dehydrated. Using infrared makes the environment far more comfortable to exercise in.

The many healing benefits of infrared

Improved immune system function

Infrared rays are known to boost the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells and T cells. Also creating a sort of artificial fever in the body can benefit the immune system.

Skin benefits

Due to the increased blood flow and oxygenation to the skin, some skin problems can be eliminated. Infrared energy is also known to improve collagen production and skin elasticity, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and minimise acne scars.

Detox the body

As the heated environment increases the amount we sweat during the workout, this potentially clears out heavy metals, toxins, and carcinogens from the body.

Reduce pain and inflammation

As the infrared penetrates the skin deeply, it can help soothe pain, inflammation, and muscle soreness. The benefits don't stop there, infrared has also been known to alleviate symptoms of chronic pain conditions such as, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Fibromyalgia.

Additional benefits

  • Accelerates weight loss

  • Increases flow of lymph fluids

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Improve allergy symptoms

  • Speed up injury recovery
